Pavel Eksler — Narrative Architecture for Founders

Narrative is the frame that flies around your business
when you're not in the room.

What narrative is the market actually reading about your company?

I help founders build narratives that deliver their vision in the exact frame they see it themselves — narratives that travel into boardrooms, investor memos, sales conversations, and onboarding decks, carrying your conviction when you're not there.

Scene 1

You're brilliant in person.
That's exactly why it's a trap.

You know your industry. You see where it's going. Your conviction built the company. You read people, adjust on the fly, light up the room — and it works. Investors, partners, and clients understand you — and want to work with you.

But most decisions get made outside the room — based on the narrative that stays in people's heads after you leave.

What an unmanaged narrative costs you

1
Your company materials default to generic. Marketing copy, sales decks, internal docs — without your direct involvement, all of it sounds like everyone else.
2
Deals move much slower without you in the room. Others can run process and follow up — but they can't sell what you've built the way you can.
3
The market doesn't know your category exists. Until you deliver the narrative, the class of solution you've built has no name — and no buyers looking for it.
4
You become the bottleneck of your own company. The better you are in person, the more fragile everything becomes without you.

When you build a narrative that works for you — beyond your live presence.

Narrative is becoming institutional infrastructure.

Anthropic, Vanta, Google, and a16z hire dedicated narrative strategists in-house. By late 2025 it became infrastructure for the biggest companies. I've been running it as a dedicated practice since 2022.

What a narrative actually is.

A narrative is the structural frame through which a market reads a company — not the marketing, not the messaging, not the pitch. It's your view of the industry and what's actually pressing for it right now, the solution that's matured to meet it, the new category that names it, and the future you're building toward.

Once formed, it lives outside the company — in how the market describes you, what people repeat after meeting you, and the stories that surface in people's minds in support of your ideas when you're not in the room.

Scene 2

I create narratives that reflect your vision.

Each one becomes the single source of truth — inside the company and outside it — so every communication ties back to your narrative and reinforces it.

I.
The semantic layer

What I do with the narrative

Audit

I find the gap between how you see the company and how the company talks about itself.

I match the narrative you operate from internally with how it currently reads from your decks, PR, and live negotiations. The gap between them is where the work starts.

Map

I research the narrative landscape and the territories you could claim.

The narratives moving around you, the territories adjacent to yours, and every path your company could actually take from here.

Build

I build the narrative that delivers your vision intact.

A core that defines every facet of how the company is perceived — a manifesto of what you do and a thesis on the vision behind it.

II.
The instrumental layer

How I deliver — formats, artifacts, tiers

Five formats. The first four progress in depth — Audit, then Map, then authored Build, then a founder-led Narrative Learning Program where I guide you through writing the narrative yourself. Each tier includes everything below it. The Founder Essay sits separately, as a strategic publication.

Diagnostic Map

2 weeks
Audit — delivered as a standalone

Work. I audit everything you've published — decks, PR, copy, positioning — and run 4 deep founder interviews. The gap between what you operate from internally and what currently reads externally gets named, with all gaps and quiet strengths surfaced.

Deliverables. Narrative diagnosis · audited materials inventory · founder interview logs.

Narrative Territories

Map the fork
3 weeks
Audit + Map — builds on Diagnostic Map

Work. With the audit as foundation, I run desk research, interviews with you and external experts, and 2 strategic workshops with the founder. From that I write three distinct strategic territories you could claim — each a real path with its own audience, argument, cost, and risk. We sharpen the fork together until the choice becomes possible.

Deliverables. Three territory essays · neighboring narratives map · decision-ready fork document.

Narrative Build

Write the path, authored
4–6 weeks
Audit + Map + Build — builds on Narrative Territories

Work. From the territory you chose, I run 4 workshops with the founder and interviews with the team, then write one full narrative — the source of truth for your company — and translate it for every business function: sales, marketing, PR, hiring, investor relations. A delivered artifact, authored by me.

Deliverables. Full narrative document · function-specific translation guides · complete session archive.

Narrative Learning Program

Founder-authored, guided by my method
up to 4 months
Founder-led build — applies my method on top of Narrative Build

Work. Here I don't write the narrative for you — I guide you through writing it yourself, applying my method step by step to your own material. Every word, metaphor, and sentence is yours; my role is the partner who keeps the method intact through your iterations.

Deliverables. The narrative in your own voice and authorship · the method itself, internalized as a portable skill · ongoing advisory log across four months.

Founder Essay

Strategic publication
up to 3 months
Standalone — separate from the tier sequence

Work. I write a long-form essay in your voice — about you and the market, not the company and the market. Where you're actually taking everyone. The piece does the work of ten communications at once.

Deliverables. The essay itself · deployable for committee materials, board positioning, PR, and thought leadership.

The result layer

What changed for the founders I worked with

After 40+ engagements, here's what the narrative actually delivered for my clients: raised investment rounds, first sales on new markets, team alignment across functions, sharper differentiation from competitors, and more.

Scandiweb
E-commerce services group · 20 years · 600+ clients · Adobe Commerce tier-1
Repackaged the company under the founder's actual vision. First on the market to define a new category — system architecture for commerce — as the answer to the AI shift. New product line surfaced; the most profitable concept the company had grown on for five years finally became the explicit core of the business.
Realytics
AI benchmarking for offline retail · $3.5M total funding · Forrester NRF APAC 2025
Compressed the explanation of bringing e-commerce-grade analytics to offline retail from 35 minutes to 5. Defined and claimed a new category. Closed a $1M strategic round and entered a new tier of clients across cafés, grocery, fashion, and automotive services.
RAMAX Group
System integrator · est. 1993 · 500+ employees · industrial digital transformation
Reinvented how proven products get repackaged for adjacent industries — including hard transfers like expertise from aviation into construction. Relaunched on new ground with first deals. Shifted the company narrative from feature lists to industry-transformation stories — products read as the inevitable next step.
Flylane (ex Educate Online)
AI infrastructure for education · founded 2018 · $17.3M total funding
Repositioned a product proven in other regions for entry into the Indian market. Closed first deals on new ground. Shifted the company narrative from feature lists to industry-transformation stories — the product now reads as the inevitable next step.

Let's draw the first map.

A 30-minute conversation where I listen to your current narrative and tell you what I see — where it's losing power, and what would be worth mapping further. No pitch. No commitment.

Scene 3

How I run the work, week by week.

The work integrates with your current strategy — analyzing your latest client conversations and investor calls, syncing with your tactical goals as they shift, and delivering interim and final artifacts continuously.

  • Every session recorded and transcribed. Nothing said in the room is lost. You and your team can return to any moment of the work.
  • Continuous artifact delivery. Not a single final reveal. You receive working artifacts throughout — diagnoses, drafts, maps, summaries — and we build on them session by session.
  • Active feedback loop with the founder and team. I collect reactions continuously — from you and from the people who'll carry the narrative after the engagement ends.
  • A clear timeline with weekly working sessions. You always know what's happening this week and what comes next. No black boxes.
  • Access to my network. Direct introductions inside your industry and adjacent ones — for experience exchange, biz-dev openings, founder-to-founder connections, and the other benefits that come with the right people in the room.

I've touched the founder's story from every side: as a CPO building product narrative, as a founder pitching investors, as a GTM lead launching to millions, as a VC partner evaluating pitches, and now as someone who's done this work 40+ times across industries and geographies.

That's the optic I bring — and it's the reason the first move in my work is almost always a map, not a deliverable. I know what the investor is actually evaluating, what the champion needs to survive procurement, what the product team needs to align around, because I've been on every side of that conversation.
